3. Ulm Legionella Day: A day of expert insights

Launch of the first animated film from our new knowledge series

On November 10, Ulm University Hospital will host the Third Ulm Legionella Day under the leadership of Miss Prof. Dr. med. Ulrike von Baum. We at i3 Membrane will be taking part for the very first time this year and are looking forward to new impulses and exciting discussions.

The Ulm Legionella Day will include expert presentations on the topics of legionella prophylaxis, legionella diagnostics, infections caused by legionella and legionella in domestic facilities.

Dr. Udo Buchholz – a research associate at the Robert Koch Institute – will also be joining us to talk about the impact of domestic drinking water installations on the risk of contracting Legionnaires' disease. In addition, all of the attendees can look forward to another highlight that we at i3 are particularly proud of: The launch of the first film in our new knowledge series.*

We created this knowledge series in order to provide medical staff and private individuals with valuable and practical background knowledge about legionella and other waterborne pathogens in a manner that is clear and easy to understand.

There is a reason why the first video in the series is about legionella of all things: the topic of legionella is becoming increasingly important everywhere. Not only annual legionella tests in the home, but also growing discussion in the media and more and more cases in public spaces are unsettling to society at large.

Only recently, Robert Koch Institute reported that the number of cases of Legionnaires' disease (which is sometimes fatal) – which is caused by certain types of Legionella bacteria – rose sharply in August and September 2023. As a result the RKI recommends more frequent testing, and that anyone with symptoms should also be tested for Legionella in order to identify the cause of the disease more quickly and thus prevent further infections.

We at i3 also want to play our part in preventing infection and have therefore made it our goal to raise awareness about this issue. At the same time, w*ith our Point-of-Use water filter i3 ONE for the tap and i3 TWO for the shower we offer a safe, simple and ready-to-use solution for the efficient prevention of infections caused, for example, by Legionella bacteria.

We are more than happy to share our knowledge with you and learn from your practical experience. Get in touch with us – in person, by phone or via e-mail: You can send us your request or reach us at +49 40 2576748-0. We're at your service.
