i3 Membrane Corp. established in USA

i3 Membrane GmbH has a new subsidiary. The establishment of i3 Membrane Corp. marks the company's entry into the U.S. market. The U.S. is market leader in life sciences so the development ensures that i3 continues on course for growth in this market segment.

"I'm very glad to be supporting i3 through this exciting market entry phase." said Ken Renfrew, President and CEO of i3 Corp. which is headquartered in Huntersville, North Carolina. Ken Renfrew is a specialist in life science filtration and has long experience in business development.

The number of cases of infection with antibiotic-resistant bacteria is increasing steadily. In 2050, the WHO expects that infections caused by these pathogens will lead to 15 million deaths per year. This would make it the most frequent cause of death due to illness – and even more common than cancer – unless significant progress is achieved by 2050.

"We know that creating a reliable barrier, especially against gram-negative (waterborne) bacteria, is helpful in combating the spread of resistant pathogens." said Dr. Stephan Brinke-Seiferth, CEO of i3 Membrane GmbH. "The evidence comes from many different studies and we believe that Point-of-Use membrane filters* can make a substantial contribution."

i3 looks forward to collaborating closely with the leading U.S. health and hygiene experts and also with specialist institutions and professional organizations. We hope to be able to bring fantastic new partners on board so that we can work together to make hospital stays safer.
